UNC Asheville's STEAM Studio is a collaborative maker-space that was founded in December 2016. Located in the RAMP building at the start of Asheville's River Arts District, STEAM Studio is a multidisciplinary space welcoming a cross section of UNCA faculty, staff and students. The 12,000 square foot configurable facility houses equipment for 3D modeling, metal fabrication including water jet, woodworking and CNC technology. UNCA students enrolled in Art and Art History are encouraged to explore the options available at STEAM to design and create, and foster interdisciplinary relationships.
