Artists & Artwork

Eric Knoche

Coral, 2023, stoneware w/ slips & glazes, 50” x 20” x 14"

Knoche creates sculptural pottery and abstract sculpture using a variety of hand-building techniques including coiling, pinching and working with slabs. Coral is comprised of five separate pieces that are secured together with metal hardware.

Justin A. Kenney

Quivering Carmine, 2024, steel, concrete, 8' x 6' x 6'

Kenney’s sculptures are composed of a galvanized steel structure cast into a concrete mold. The sheer plates fit together into a “card tower” through a series of cross-lap style bracket.

Lydia Jenkins Musco

Logarithmus, 2024, integrally pigmented hand-cast concrete, 83" x 21.5" x 16.5"

Musco’s sculptures are built and installed from the ground up. They are cast in movable layers that disassemble and reassemble like a vertically stacked puzzle. Logarithmus draws particular inspiration from the “Chip Log”, an early instrument for gauging nautical speed.

Sam Spiczka

Orion, 2008, fabricated Cor-ten steel, 10’ x 2.5’ x 1.5’

Inspired by natural bone forms, rural technology and geometric structure, Spiczka produces distinctive work that is both modern and intensely primal, public yet deeply personal.

Kevin Vanek

Industrial Oaf: Meaningful Scoop, 2022, zinc plated steel, 7’ x 5’ x 3’

Vanek is a dedicated foundry artist, striving to combine contemporary concepts with traditional techniques. Through the hard work and meticulous problem solving needed in metal art, they craft one-of-a-kind reliquaries for issues such as mental health, queer acceptance and equal rights.

Shane Ward

Intimate Spiral, 2024, cast iron, soil, aluminum, enamel, 24” x 60” x 60”

This sculpture features two life-sized cast iron bald eagles locked in a mating spiral, resting on 286 pounds of soil (the average weight of two Civil War soldiers) collected from historic American Civil War battlefields.

Sandy de Lissovoy

Gerrymandered Texas, 2020, aluminum, enamel, 76” x 72” x 36”

This sculpture utilizes the shapes of five congressional districts that were effectively gerrymandered between 2012 and 2020. The shapes are proportional to each other, but disoriented from a standard compass orientation.
