Artist Statement

The impetus of this series is to explore PTSD, psychological coping mechanisms and self exploration as art therapy. By examining my own fears, hopes, and prejudices I seek to understand not only why I think and feel the way I do, but to find methods to adapt and change the broken mechanisms within. Transhumanism is accepting and embracing change and adapting with emerging technologies and sciences to perfect the ideals of humanity by becoming more human than human. The disjointed and often unrelatable imagery is not by happenstance but a direct reflection of the uncertainty and possibility the future holds for those willing to adapt. Those that do not adapt share the same fate, which is inevitable. But by self-examination humanity has a better chance to transcend beyond the past and better adapt to the future.
