Artist Statment
My work uses acidic color palettes to create expressionist interpretations of my own experiences of nightlife. I aim to shine a light on the lesser seen connections that form in night exclusive spaces like bars, clubs, and house parties, while also examining why we feel free to behave and interact differently at night. Nightlife often has connotations of immorality and hedonism, but I believe it’s one of the last spaces we have to form genuine camaraderie and escape the pressures of our societal conditions.
